American Comfort Food

I grew up eating arroz con gandules, in other words comida Boricua (Puerto Rican food); and although I do cook some Puerto Rican recipes at home both my husband's and son's heart are set on good old American comfort food.

If I ask my child what is his favorite food? He would answer, "Mashed potatoes with gravy, and Mac ’n Cheese!"  My husband will say,  "Fried chicken followed by BBQ, and baked beans!" Funny enough these are typical American comfort food.

When looking to make mac 'n cheese I like simple, easy and fast!  I found this stove top macaroni and cheese recipe (picture on the right) that you'll surely love! It's the one that I follow to make mac 'n cheese in a snap! It's so easy that your child can help you make it!

Now if you want to make a traditional baked mac 'n cheese (picture on the left) you can check out the recipes below.   My cousin made it, and she posted it on Facebook and I had to have it!  The picture of course! :)
