I grew up eating arroz con gandules, in other words comida Boricua (Puerto Rican food); and although I do cook some Puerto Rican recipes at home both my husband's and son's heart are set on good old American comfort food.
If I ask my child what is his favorite food? He would answer, "Mashed potatoes with gravy, and Mac ’n Cheese!" My husband will say, "Fried chicken followed by BBQ, and baked beans!" Funny enough these are typical American comfort food.
